ORDER :-

In the G.O. first read above, orders were issued, among other things constituting the State Board of Technical Education and Training under the Chairmanship of the Minister for Education. 

2)         In the G.O. second read above , the State Board of Technical Education and Training was last reconstituted for the period of 3 years from 11.11.2005.

3)         The Commissioner of Technical Education in his letters third read above, has requested the Government to reconstitute the State Board of Technical Education and Training to carry on its functions for a period of three years from the date of issue of order of formulating and implementing the policies of Technical Education in Tamil Nadu.

4)         Accordingly, the Government reconstitute the State Board of Technical Education and Training. Tamil Nadu with the following composition for the period of 3 years :-

5.  The Board is a first class committee for the purpose of drawal of  Travelling Allowance and Daily Allowance by the Non-Official Members and the official members are permitted to draw necessary Travelling Allowance and Daily Allowance in connection with attending the meetings of the Board as per the rules in force.
6.   The Following are the charter of the Board.
The advise the Government on the general programmes.
a.    To process the application and recommend to All India Council or Technical Education for issuance of Indent / Letter of Approval for starting new Polytechnic Colleges.
b.    Affiliation and recognition of the institutions of the institutions.
c.    Arrange for periodical inspection of institutions.
d.    Verification of fulfillment of conditions as per Grant-in-Aid.
e.    To frame the regulations for conduct of exams and award of diploma.
f.    To Co-ordinate with Industrial and commercial Establishments.
g.    Improvement of Enrollment ratio in Polytechnic Colleges.
h.    To increase the second year lateral entry enrollment.
i.    High rate of placement/Self Employment/ Higher studies
j.    Improving skill upgradation.
k.    Industry Institution collaborated activities.
      m. Training facilities.
      n. CAS training programme.
7.    The Expenditure shall be debited to “2203.00 Technical  Education – 001.  Direction and Administration – I – Non-Plan-AA.  Directorate of Technical Education – 04.  Office Expenses”.
8.    This order does not require the concurrence of the Finance Department vide G.O. (Ms) No.1177, Finance Department, dated 19.19.1973.
