COMMITTEE TO REGULATE-MONITOR THE ADMISSION OF STUDENTS TO PROFESSIONAL COURSES BY SELF FINANCING PROFESSIONAL, ARTS AND SCIENCE COLLEGES.
The Government of Tamil Nadu based on the direction of the Hon’ble Supreme Court of India constituted the Committee to Regulate Monitor the admissions of students in to Self Financing Professional Institutions headed by Honourable Mr Justice S.S. Subramani, retired Judge of Madras High Court vide G.O. Ms No.69 Higher Education (J2) Department dated 19.3.2004, members of the committee are as under
1) Hon’ble Justice S.S. Subramani Chairman
2) An Engineer of eminence ( nominated by Chairman) Member
3) One of the Vice-Chancellor of Tamil Nadu Member
4) Independent person of repute (nominated /co-opted) Member
5) Secretary to Government, Higher Education Dept. Member Secretary
As per the G.O. Ms 69 the term of the Chairman and the members are initially fixed for a period of one year, Subsequently the period has been extended for two more years vide GO Ms. 95 and 106.
The Government of Tamil Nadu constituted the new committee as per vide GO Ms No.227 Dated 11.07.2007 under the chairmanship of Hon’ble Mr. Justice M.Thanikachalam,and subsequently Hon’ble Mr. Justice K. Ravirajapandian,andHon’ble Mr. Justice A. Abdul Hadi, are appointedas Chairman of the Committee. At present the committee headed by Hon’ble Mr. Justice. R.S. Ramanathan,
Every year the Committee issued guidelines to be followed for admission of the students for the seats retained by the institutions, to that effect the committee issued proceedings every year for the following courses.
- Self Financing Engineering Colleges
- Self Financing Medical/Dental/Paramedical/Indian System of Medicine Colleges
- Self Financing Law Colleges.
