This scheme will be run by All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE) to train the unemployed youth in Engineering Skills through AICTE approved Engineering Colleges and Polytechnic Colleges. The Technical Institutions / Polytechnic Colleges have to utilize their existing infrastructure for offering the skill courses in the off-college hours such that the unemployed youth enrolled for these courses shall acquire adequate skills under the National Skill Qualification Frame work (NSQF) and find suitable placement / self employment. Under this initiative the council will give grant-in-aid to the Institutions as per terms and conditionsstipulated under the scheme.

Under this scheme, all eligible institutions will have to offer skill training for around 250 hours to a batch of 100 students based on National Occupational Standards (NOS) in Engineering Skills, which may be seen on http://www.nsdcindia.org/nos
